http://couriernews.com/bookmark/2624113 … y-residentI would like to hear an AGFC response to this one.
After all of the violations , he gets virtually nothing for punishment !! — Go figure !! — I know a guy that shot a small elk , thinking it was a large deer , and after finding his mistake , he calls AGFC to report it . — What did they do ??? — Fined him $5000.00 dollars , confiscated his rifle and the elk , and took away his hunting / fishing licenses for 5 years . — Doug , I have to agree with the heading of this thread !! — Mark
Judge better know deeper pockets than whats in Johnson county is all Im saying. I worked long and hard to restore my name with AGFC after a small incident involving my father and his friends, not even me. But I made sure to make things right, and show them the respect they earn, and continue to work with them om projects. You just dont burn bridges with the AGFC, ASP, and their counterparts. I do look forward th hearing about this,,,,,
Counting salaries F&G had to have tens of thousands of dollars into the investigation and some clown judge fines him $1450 and the offender looses his license for a whole day? Wow. Sportsman in that area should be raising hell.
Ill do some checking.C.O.D. Jr. III
Thats a joke…. There was a guy at a local lake in Omaha who I personally witnessed having several set lines out (Illegal in Nebraska except in river systems) he had “caught” if you wanna call it that several bass on the lines some of which had already died Im guessing they had been on awhile… I normally dont get involved but couldnt help myself so I trolled over to him and said hey man is it really necessary for you to have several set lines out to catch bass? Did you know its illegal in Nebraska to have set lines in a lake? I asked whats the point of catching 14″ bass on a set line that they have been on for several hours? theres no sport in that? He told me to FFFF myself and mind my own business… I got out my phone took pictures of him, his set lines, his vehicle and license plate and told him I was calling Game and Parks and reporting him. He quickly packed up and left. I called our local officer and told him about my findings that day and he said I will look into it. He called me two days later and said we caught the kid! He had 16 set lines out and several fish under the keeper size in his vehicle and no valid fishing permit… I asked him what he did about it? His answer? I just gave him a warning he said he didnt know it was illegal and was very apologetic…. I said really? This is the kid who I respectfully told him man youre breaking the law and he told me to FFFF myself and mind my own business!!! I told the G&P officer when I initally called him about the conversation I had with this “kid” and he surely knew he was breaking the law but ignored it and kept doing it…. SMH I asked the officer if he thought the “kid” really learned anything from this? His response was well I told him if I would have fined him for all of the offenses he found that day that it would have been a fine over $5000.00 he said the “kid” said he will never to it again and that he was really sorry…. Really???!!! Sad deal that the guy mentioned above with the mistaken elk got the punishment he did and then “kids” like the one I had seen walk away without even a fine for fishing without a permit… Sorry for my rant

They should have sent him in for an eye exam. Next thing you know this guy will be shooting livestock
The judge is a POS. Unreal. What a waste of thousands and thousands of public monies. The judge should be mandated to pay that amount back….
