1995 Pantera 2 I have a soft spot over the bilge drain in the cockpit area.. Im super bummed out. I just replaced the motor and the transom is good and dry and solid. The stringers should be good. Help please ):

Ive searched a lot but I havent found a good answer for my unique situation. Would it kill me to take it on the lake ONCE? Im a broke high school student. I do all my own work on my boat. Its just the floor the transom and stringers are good. Help please thanks guys

andrewracoon, The floor fatigues in three places: 1> just where your foot place right of the drain hole. 2> right of the deck where carpeting get pulled down by your toe on the side wall. 3>Left of the center along the rod box wall and about 6″ inside where you place your left foot on stepping.It wont hurt to run it some, though it should be addressed before it allows moisture to enter the foam chamber and the rest all deteriorates. We do suspect that the area is already compromised as the fatigue develops long before it is noticed as the fiberglass shield on top prevents awareness. The area will eventually chase in to the floor drain and begin rotting backwards from the drain in time. It is not too much work to cut a section out and replace it before it goes really bad. And they are right, there are several posts on this in either this forum or the FAQ section. BCB

Dude, whats to be bummed about ? Its a 20yo boat ! AND it will fix ! Lots of rigs dont live that long and yours is still going strong, just needs a little tlc.Personally I would get it to someone who builds them every day and have it repaired correctly, but thats just me. Then roll on down the lake !good time to upgrade carpet, hinges, and bubble trim and locks, too !

What state are you in? Im sure with the years this board has behind it you can find some reputable BCB Folks to help, recomend etc….I have a Nice and Fantastic Fiberglass guy that would help and take Pity on a HS Student, hes on the Border of Illinios and Wisconsin above Chicago

Well thanks guys I feel a lot better. Once I sell some stuff Ill have the money for these upgrades. Love this forum you guys rock. Unfortunately I live in Utah pretty sure I have the only bass cat in this state. It came from out of state. Anyway Ill call around and find somebody but thanks for the works of encouragement I just need it for one tournament coming up then Ill do the work

Im kidding, but really I fish on the Utah team and there are not a ton thats one of the reasons I love it. My 1995 basscat is better imo than any of my buddies rangers, skeeters, or tritons from the mid 2000s
