I have owned 2 Bass Cats over the past 6 years and until now I have been very impressed with BCB and their products. In 2008 I traded my 2002 Pantera III (which I bought used) in for a 2008 Pantera IV and have been disappointed with this boat since I received it. From day one the dry storage box behind the passenger seat fills up with water everytime it rains. I have taken this issue to my dealer three times in attempt to get it fixed and I still have the same problem. Also, when I received the boat the bearing buddies were over full and slung grease everywhere which caused the brakes to smoke like crazy (which is embarrasing when towing a brand new boat). I had to have the brakes on the left side of the trailer replaced because they were dragging and burned up the pads and rotor. As of late, my paint is fading in about 10 spots under the gelcoat and really looks bad, not to mention the glass is cracking on the transom above the water line. I took the boat back to the dealer again and the response I got from BCB is what bothered me the most since they pride themselves on “family” and “customer service”. They admitted they had used some bad catalyst which is what is causing the paint to fade. They are willing to correct this but the cost of getting the boat to their repair facility is on me ($675.00) and then they told me the glass cracking is from impact and I would have to send it through my insurance. Again, it is on the transom above the water line……so how did it get hit? The dry storage box issue was not addressed at all again. This has been the most frustrating boat ownership experience I have ever had. So for the first time since 2002 I am reluctantly thinking of leaving BCB and going to another company. Now just so you all know how much I have loved my Bass Cats, I have sold 4 of my friends on Bass Cat boats when they were looking to buy other brands. After talking to me, my Uncle changed from buying a Triton and bought a brand new 2010 Puma FTD. I have a Bass Cat tattoo on my left calf. So as you see, I was a big fan and you would have never heard me say anything bad about a Bass Cat Boat until now. I am truly disappointed with this boat and the way my problems have been handled by all involved.
I can see a private message from Charcoalpuma is clearly in your future Sorry for your troubles. I would assume that BCB will make this right if your dealer did not.
We have reviewed the documentation on the e-mail with the dealership and BCB Service, and have communicated with the person who handled this. There are no mentions of this in the correspondence, and we are not aware of any communication with the individual and Bass Cat direct. At this time BCB Service is going to pick up the ball and move forward. We would love to not see this escalate to this point, though at times they do. This is where we hope to shine and we are moving to the 50 yard line. You are welcome to contact Pete, who is the person of knowledge on this situation. BCB Admin.PS: The last gelcoat issue of any concern was 2000 or 1999. We do have one in TN that we are aware of, though we do not know yet what that issue is.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on October 18th, 2010, 9:05 pm, edited 3 times in total.

Im sure they will deal with it in a professional manner.
I applaud you for bringing your frustrations to the board. I truly believe thats what the board was designed for. We all know that BCB cant be perfect even though some think so. Glynn
The fractures are sequential below and above the rub rail. This is a joint of those two parts and something impacted the boat in that area. We are not saying that anyone in ownership did this, though it has occured. The images clearly show half moon radius cracks on both deck and hull in alignment. It appears as if it were backed into a post, or someone backed into the boat with a taller vehicle in that area. We are not placing blame on anyone, though there is someone responsible. This issue is in review by Service on the Gel Coat. There is a question of ownership on apparently a second owner that we are attempting to figure out, and we will be in touch with the owner above on this matter today. Hopefully the owner will be available today to discuss this matter, ownership and the gel coat. The ownership history will help us to understand more on this issue. The white Gel Coat appears to be weathered from our images and we will figure that out also. BCB Service
