It is true: http://www.jdpower.com/co…ssrelease.aspx?ID=2009023 Evinrude did win the JD Power award this year in the 2 stroke market. Judd Lasiter
Thanks Judd for getting that link up, you sound sad about it? They just had more “cash” this year!Your Signature …
I think this link will work, its the number difference in the outboard category, similar in nature to BCB over R or the others….http://www.jdpower.com/co…/releases/pdf/2009023.pdfYour Signature …
Not sad…Evinrude worked hard to get this award and dont have to share it this year. My hats off to them. Competition is good for us consumers and there isnt a thing wrong with that. I dont think “cash” had a bit to do with it. I think Evinrude is making a push and this shows it. Will it influence my engine decision…no. But I think it will make my engine choice try even harder to get back this award. That my friend is a good thing…I hope they enjoy their rein they obviously worked hard and earned it. Judd Lasiter
Evinrude had electric shift back in the 60s / early 70s. I am an OMC looper guy at heart (the working mans motor). I must admit I do love the sound of my WOT Merc. Like Judd said, competition is a good thing.
Evinrude E-TEC Wins JD Power award 2009!!!! Only the first but, you gotta start somewhere! Now! Lets just see how sincere BRP really is about repeating this JD Power and Associate Award.Last edited by bcjigginjoe on February 13th, 2009, 1:52 am, edited 1 time in total.
actually BRP won 3 times including 2009…….the years are online, I think 2 are E-TEC, and I think the 2003 one is Direct Injection….But still they are dedicated to their E-TEC technology, and with them now making the small HP motors over seas, they can be competitive with companies like Yamaha, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki and even beat out Tohatsu…..Their new 25/30 is a honey of a motor and harnesses technologys and features never offered in that size……With them also releasing their Digital Throttle systems I feel personally that in the next couple years they could really start to take up market share…..If you guys would have seen the Milwaukee Boat Show, where Evinrude had a gourgeous 100th Anniversary Booth, everyone was talking E-TEC, and alot more than ususal knew what it was, and thats huge for marketing folk….Brand recognition, not 1 buyer or interested party mentioned the year 2000, and these guys were affected by the OMC Bankruptcy, all in all I feel that You guys the customer, will continue to get superior technologies, and reliability from whatever brand your loyal to as they years go buy……Just wait for the 300 H.O., that one is gonna turn some heads, and turn some props……The Scream and Fly crowd are patiently awaiting that motor…..Your Signature …
