I did a search and Could not find this answer, so I apologize if it has been played out. Will a Minn Kota pedal fit in the recess foot pedal area of my 97Classic? Also too will the bolt patterns on the foot pedal and mounts line up. Thank you

I put a new MK Maxxum 80 on my 96 Eyra last spring…it will fit in the basin. I did have to use different mounting holes for foot pedal ONLY. Just silicone the old holes and you will be fine! Thank you that is exactly the information I needed, I appreciate the help. How do you like that 80lb on there? I have a 56 right now, came when I boat my new to me boat. I always felt it was underpowered, especially for wind and tidal current. Thanks!

I have a 74lb MK on my 2002 classic, and I wouldnt want anything less than that. Mine does fine most of the time, but it dissappoints sometimes when Im fishing in current. Overall, its not enough of a problem for me to upgrade, but I defintely wouldnt want less than what I have. I would think that 56 lb would be underpowered also. Pulls me around just fine. The Eyra is 1711″, but with me(300+lbs), my son (150) and our gear, probably as much weight as a Classic with two smaller fellas(). It will do well! If you do fish a lot of current, you may want to consider even a 100+ lb tm. I fish some current here on Arkansas River and usually run on about “30”. My boat is underpowered in the engine and I dont want to add the wieght of an extra battery in the back. So I figured I will get the biggest 24volt that I can. Anything would be better then the 56 I have, it just doesnt cut it on the days when the wind and the current or working in concert.

Zippers…you dont have to add another battery in the rear of the boat to get a 36v system. There are several here and several at the factory who run 36v trollers on a total of 3 battery set up. I have the last 4 boats without any battery issues…I did have a charger bank go out which created a battery problem but not a result of the setup. Good luck…you are right you are underpowered on trolling motor. Dont go to a 36v though because it will be darn hard to go back to 24v Judd Lasiter
