Dicky Newberry fired off hard with a 36-5 stringer on Sam Rayburn last week in the BFL. Dicky keeps a gentlemans cabin at Sam Rayburn in Rayburn Country there and frequents the lake. Things are heating up and we are prespawn there. The Bass Cat Invitational Will surely produce some really nice fish in a couple of months. We hope to have the entry forms done within two weeks. Better make plans to attend. BCBLast edited by Bass Cat Boats on February 7th, 2013, 3:24 am, edited 5 times in total.
Dicky probably needs to move to Ouachita !http://www.flwoutdoors.com/community/pr … ?uid=13886 The local “sticks” on Rayburn are consistently tough to beat, but the lake is big, and you can catch fish any number of ways any given day. I hope the grass is coming back, and i hope the lake is full ! That will change everything, and make things more challenging. Dicky is just one of the guns down there, there are many including our P.A., who are very good there, but you can bet there will be some surprises. I just hope they put out lots of ducks ! lolLast edited by dbasketman on February 5th, 2013, 3:36 pm, edited 1 time in total.
The lake is fishing really good right now. Lots of fish in the 2 and 3 lb range. The big ones are not far behind as the water temp has reached the 60 degree mark. Its only 3 feet low and a few more spring rains and it will be in the bushes. The grass is doing really well and is out to about 9 ft in places. Eveeyone should be able to have a great time and catch alot of fish. Its going to be a great tournament and and good year for Big Sam.
