Propellers vary, and most go with a 26 Fury in todays market. We always liked a 26 Trophy till the Fury. There are a few units we have seen improve with a Tempest. So it is all over the table as to propeller selection, though we find the Fury to be the most forgiving.

Fury 26P for sure. I am getting easy driving 75-77 with a full load and two guys. I have seen 80.1 once and I pulled off at that. I just wanted to see 80. That was full of gas and just one person in about perfect conditions. Talk here of 83 but not from me. I may be crazy, but I love this boat best at 50 MPH in 3 footers. Soft and dry. Next best, I love it at between 0.0 and 0.6 MPH. This boat fishes absolutely awesome. At 55-80 on the trailer, it is awesome as well. 26 Fury for most applications as BCB pointed out. You should get upper 70s worse case.

Looking to purchase an 08 Cougar FTD with a 250 Pro Xs, what kind of numbers will I be looking at speed wise? Which prop do you guys recommend?

Sounds like you may need to lower the plate alittle… Im sure someone will chime in that has more experience on rudes…

Sounds like the engine is too high and BCB does not use much engine height.

27 fury ! Your going to get the limiter a bit with a 26 . I would have to say that is normal for that rig .

I just read your post better . It rides really flat and if you lower the plate it will probably get a little squirly depending ? Some other props dont ride quite as flat . I have gotten used to it . Im running a 27 razor 3 and it drives real good and the fury has a little edge to overall performance .

How far do you guys suggest me dropping the plate? I forgot to add Im using a 8in slidemaster and both brackets are flush right now.

drop it a quarter inch at a time till you get comfy with it then really dial it in from that point… depending on your load you should only use about half of your trim but no more than 3/4 trim
