Is there a program available for keeping good records for fishing including water depth, temp, weather conditions, that can be searched later by lake, month, etc.? Thanks and have a blessed day, AJ
For me a spreadsheet like Excel works perfect and can do all that stuff very easily. But then Excel is second nature to me and I already have it for use in my work. So Id say if you have any sort of spreadsheet program (Excel, Works, etc.) give it a try; but if you dont then Excel is pretty expensive to buy outright unless you can get it through a student, teacher or employer discount. Deke. ironically I just purchased a lap top with Excel being installed for use in my business. How can I set up a format for use in my fishing? Secondly, is there a way to actually write notes with Excel or just input data into the fields? I know you are a computer guru and am glad you posted on this. Any help is appreciated. Have a blessed day, AJ
Basstar, Here is a link to a printable log page that I have used. http://bassresource.com/fish/fishing_log.html I made photocopies of the one I printed out. Then after a day on the water I fill out the information and store these in a 3 ring binder. I hope this might be of some help.
AJ: Just wanted to let you know Im not ignoring your post. This will be a kinda long answer and Ive been pretty busy lately. If youre still interested in Excel then let me know and Ill try and respond later today. But if youre not terribly familiar with Excel and can find a freeware log program out there that works for you then you might be better served. I just dont like to buy anything, especially software, that I dont absolutely have to. But if you do find a freeware program out there that you find really useful after using it, dont hesitate to send the creator a few bucks (anywhere from $5 or $10 on up with $20 or $25 seemingly the norm) as a complement and reward. Thatll help keep the freeware and hobbyist programmers motivated. DekeDeke
Deke,Actually, I would like to do it on Excel as that would give me more practice (which I need) on Excel and keep up my log as well. Feel free to send me a message directly if you want or post a three page response (LOL) here. Have a blessed Christmas season, AJ
I am working on drafting a nice Excel template. I will post a link to it when I get it completed so you can use it if you like.Jason Desertdweller.com Get Your Bass in the Boat!
