Ram mount for sabre ftd?

I have a 2010 Sabre ftd with factory console mounted electronics. Im looking to add a Humminbird 8 or 9 series on a ram mount of some sort. Any body have and pics or ideas on where or how to mount that would work? I would like to keep the flush mounted console 788c. I have looked and just cant think or see a good place to mount the ram arm as there are not many flat spots for the base. In hindsight I should have just added it when ordering the boat with the ram mount in the center of console. Thanks for any help!

thanks, its pretty tight in that area as well due to the throttle when full forward (no hotfoot) and a pop up cleat. I will check that area again though. Were you able to get behind the mounting area for bolts or did you just use screws? thanks again

Thanks,I have the Sabre FTD so no handrails or I would go that route. I also checked again and no room for the ram moount in front of shifter. Its tight being a sabre and the pop up cleat takes up the remaining room. The onlly other thought I had was to mount it on the side of the console and either take the windshield off or cut a circular hole out of the windshield for the ball mount to come through. Dont care for this idea that much either though so I may be stuck.

Do what I did, make an adapter plate out of anything you want ( mine is white oak with a polyurethane finish), mount the adapter on a curved surface using rubber spacers (4) to account for the not flat surface and then mount the ram to the flat adapor plate. not counting the finishing the project took about an hour.Irv

I have a 2008 Sabre FTD and I put a RAM mount on the side of the cockpit. Mine fit in front of the pop up cleat and the dash. I removed the cleat for installation – otherwise the tips of the screw get in the way and also cut the snot out of your hand. I also removed the shifter for access so I could mount a backing plate. Here is the only pic I have, if you would like some other views, just let me know and I will take some more for you.

WIBassman,Thanks for the picture. Do you have a hotfoot? My issue may be that I dont run one and the throttle lever may hit that area when pushed fully forward. I guess I need to get a base and just check. It seems like if it fits it will be quite tight.Thanks

I do have a hot foot but the shift lever doesnt come close enough to matter. I have never rapped my knuckles on the mount.
