went to the final weigh in today. saw some good bags of large, smallmouth and mixed bags. there were bags raging from 15-20lbs. Guido Hibdon won it with 50+lbs with one day cancled due to weather. Show will air Nov. 4th.If you see a Bass Cat hat in the crowd that would be me. .Good story while watting for the weigh in went into Wal-Mart to look around went to the fishing section, and while looking aroun a person came up to me and asked if I ran a Bass Cat. He said he had only seen one before. He said the guy worked fo a wind generation Co.and was from Mississippi, I said that had to be Joey(aka basscat247). He had only good things to say about Joey and the Bass Cat Boats. What are the chancs of this person running into me and Joey.Joe C
It is a small World! Congratulations to Guido on breaking a long streak. While Guido is not as old as most folks think he is, he is well due this win. He and Stella have long been personal friends of the Pierces. Kota Kiriyama managed a nice check up there! Now he and Suri will be dead heading to FLorida for that last Elite event. BCB
It is a small world. Can you tell me who it was you ran in to up there. For the whole 6 weeks I was up there that Comfort INN in front of Walmart was where my home was. Was not suppose to be like that but will not go there. Like I have said before. That is a really beautiful area up there. The people and the lake far exceded my expectations and have very few regrets. Wish things would have been different because I miss it every day. Considering the weather those guys had a very good tournament. Was good to see the old man of the group kick a little butt up there. 1 of the 3 times I got to put my boat in the water up there I caught a pretty good bag of largemouths up there. Had caught the smallmouths I posted on this site almost up in Canada. Went back to the same area and the wind was blowing pretty hard. Caught 1 big smallmouth and 1 big pike ripping a 3/4 ounce spinner bait over the tops of the grass. Figured I would do a little riding and looking. Was coming back up the lake and went under the bridge that goes from Champlain over to Vermont. Do not fish bridge pilings that much but figured I would stop and give it a try. Needless to say they were there. Stayed there for about 3 hours pitching a watermelon jig tipped with a twin tail trailer. Guess I caught about 30 largemouths with several in the 3 to 4 pound range. Some of the prettiest fish I have ever caught. Was the last time I got to put my boat in the water. Take CareJoeyPS: Would love to know who it was you talked to.
Joey, it was a very nice young man in a wheel chair, did not get his name but did get me smile and laugh as he has a great sense of humor.BCB it felt good to have people come up to me and ask about Bass Cat Boats while surround by all thes Rrrrr boats. As for Guido and Stella they are some of the nices people you can meet. Wife and I met Guido and Stella about 15yrs ago and they have not changed, still love to give hugs, as Guido went through cancer and him Stella talked to wife which made her feel better.By the way Guido won this on large mouth.Joe C
Joe, his name is Josh. He was a very nice kid and helped me out in a very tight situation. Is a very long story but he is the one that let me keep my boat at his house. He lost his leg a few years ago in a very bad accident. Almost lost the other one but they have it put together with more rods and pins than you can imagine. He was just getting into Bass fishing and wanted to take him very bad. Just could never get together on our times. Seems like either he had to work or I had to work. Anyway, I paid him for the rest of the year for keeping my boat at his place. Let him just keep the money and also gave him a rod and reel combo. Told him I would be back one day and would take him then !!!!Like I said. Was a first class area with people and a lake to match. Can see taking a trip up there once a year or every other year for the rest of my life. Just sorry the reason I was there did not work out !!!!Take Care and Good LuckJoey
