I qualified to fish the TBF championship on Grand Lake in April. Myself and Steve (the other Ontario qualifier )are driving down for a look in a couple weeks. I have looked around abit on the web and google earth and have a rough idea of the lake but Im looking for some insight on the lake. I know the Classic will be there and there will be lots said then but that will not help in December when Im there. So some questions I have:Where do I find the current pool level? Is there a must have lure for the lake? (like table rock and a wiggle wort)Any recommendation on bass boat friendly, cheap accommodations in the area? How big are all those docks I see?Is any creek better than all the restIs there any legend areas, IF you can get 5 bites you win spots? Is there any dead areas to be avoided? The event is early April, will there be fish on nests Is there a sure spot to catch one of those spoon billed fish? because that would be cool! and I have limited time. Many more Questions but any help would be greatly appreciated. We will be there for 4 days of fishing so if your near by and wish to float, this is possible. NO I dont wish to pay for a guide.Steve is looking at boats so we may be stoping by CAT for a quick tour but other than that, this is a fact finding mission before the cut date. Thanks for any help and Im more than willing to help you If your coming north for some monster smallmouth action (last weekend on Erie, low 26 wins, high 24 is out of the money!)Doug Brownridge
