I have a 1998 Jaguar with a jackplate that says “POWER LIFT” on the side.Does any one know who makes this jackplate so I can order the correct transducer saver bracket and spacers that I need.Someone said to me that the way the hull was designed that I would have to buy spacers of some kind.Would like someone give me those numbers.I just bought two 998csi,one for my console and one for the bow.My next question is how do I run the interlink cable between the two and what problems am I going to run into. What length cable should I buy.
Im assuming you already got on the transducer shield and saver website? When you are ordering it asks what boat and what jackplate you have. I want to say “Power Lift” is a CMC product….they are listed on T-H Marines website so Id say order the L-bracket for a T-H Marine jackplate. If thats wrong somebody will correct me soon. I also recently added a 998 to my boat. I will look at the numbers for you tomorrow if the weather allows. I was unaware of the need for an extension (spacer) but after placing my order, they e-mailed me asking a couple of questions and once I responded, they told me I needed the extension (spacer). They seemed very knowledgeable about their product and our boats and what we need. Below is the shield you need. TM-HDsi Price: $79.95 I had to have an inch and a half spacer for my Slidemaster jackplate. You can contact them from their website to see what size spacer you need.Last edited by toledobasser on February 26th, 2013, 6:56 am, edited 2 times in total.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
Contact Transducer Shield and Saver, Shirley or Scap will be glad to assist.
Call transducer shield they will know. And of its a 6 bolt plate you will have to get an extra bracket
forget the interlink, all you need to link the 2 units is theEthernetcable.here is a good video Doug V posted on his you tube page:http://www.youtube.com/v/SAEh9G9FRM4&sh … oplay=0&ap
That answers my question about the tranducer saver and the jackplate. How about running the ethernet cable, how do I fish it from the console to the pan that my trolling motor foot pedal is at and what problems am I going to run into.My existing depth finder is located in the pan directly to the right of my pedal which is where I am going to mount my 998,so power supply is no problem because its already there. But getting the ethernet cable to that spot seems difficult, not only that but I wanted to mount it on a ram mount and run through bolts with a nut and lock washers on the bottom for a secure mount but I dont know how I am going to get my hands under there to get a wrench on the nuts. The access panel where the trolling motor plugs into in the pan is all the way over to the left on the side wall. The through bolts and lock nuts om a ram mount does not worry me that much because I can always mount it on the bracket with the screws that came with it but getting that ethernet cable there is my main concern.I wish I could take a picture of it so you could see exactly what my problem is but I do not have the knowledge to do that.Again I have a 1998 Jaguar (WHAT A BOAT!).Thanks guys.
You can access under the right storage box outer lip and deck area, tying it up to existing PVC for wiring and running it inside the gunnel. You may also be able to access that area through the storage box to the front end.
Like BCB said.i have a 99 P3 I purchased 2 Ram mount base plates (one for the bow and one for the console) and it comes with all hardware from Transducer shield and saver: http://www.transducershieldandsaver.com … egory_id=6ram mount base plate:i found it was easier to run the cable from the pan to the console, drill a hole for the Ethernet cable in the pan (were you plan to mount ram base plate) then fish it from the rod box. from the rod box run the other end of the Ethernet cable to the console. with the base plate its a cleaner looking install. My boat is in the shop getting my rub rail updated so i cant take pictures until this weekend.to get to the locking nuts under neath the pan is a challenge but using a long extending socket one person can hold the nut from under neath through the rod box while the other person screws it in from the top.Last edited by socalpIII on February 28th, 2013, 3:58 pm, edited 3 times in total.
