Wahoo! Put in for the time off today. Can always change it if need be, but thanks for the heads up! We will be there and if gas continues its slide it will cost us a few hundred less this year. Well cost us a few hundred less in gas, probably find something else to spend it on, um like BBQ!!! Cant get enough of the BBQ from the fine folks in Mountain Home.Jason Desertdweller.com Get Your Bass in the Boat!

Is there a link somewhere that gives a past itinerary for the OI? My buddy and I are considering a trip from NC but I need to understand more about the OI before committing to the drive. Can you tell me something about hotel availability, the lake being fished, practice times, costs or anything you know that would help me make up my mind. Anybody else from NC going? thanks RJ
there are a lot of places to stay. you can put google earth in and down load it go to lake norfork and add resorts and it will give you all of them with phone numbers and also prices and go to mt home and it will show hotels.. It will also give you a look at the lake from there. We always show up the saturday before the tournament and practice until wednsday the day before the tournament.IF ITS NOT A CAT ITS A DOG BASSCAT BOATS 2001 COUGAR 225 YAMAHA….www.dropshotdennys.com
Usually if you book soon enough there is plenty of rooms available. Even if you wait till the last minute you can usually find a room or two still open from cancellations. The lake is Norfork Lake. You can google it and find all the information about it. There will also be a list of area hotels and places to stay. Its a big lake with plenty of room for everyone. I think the water is still pretty high, as it was last year from all the rains they had. Practice is anytime up till the day of the tourney I think. Cant remember if they have a specific time you have to be off the water the day before or not. We are usually at the grill long before anyway. The cost is free if you are the registered owner, but they do have a couple of side pots you can get in if you choose to. You should get an invite in the mail when they finalize everything explaining the side pot entries and rules. We come from Arizona for this event every year now. Its a long long long drive and a bit costly(fuel), but well worth the trip. The tourney is part of it, but it is a small part of the trip. For us, it is more of BBQng, meeting with friends and a few beverages and there happens to be a fishing tourney going on. It is an event that once you go, you will most likely try to make all of them. BassCat puts on events here and there throughout the week, which I am sure they will explain when they get everything finalized. The whole town of Mountain Home rolls out the red carpet and welcomes you like they have known you for years. Great folks, great times and a great family hosted event.Jason Desertdweller.com Get Your Bass in the Boat!
