OK, for all you NW AR boys. I might be relocating in the near future. Which area would you live in? Kids are grade school age so the best schools are the priority. Want to stay under $300,000 but want at least an acre lot or better, preferably on a lake. Need to be 30-40 minutes from Rogers. Bella Vista, Rogers, Bentonville, Fayetteville??
Dont forget Springdale, Ark. If I were looking at moving back to that area, I would pick Springdale. My family is originally from NW Ark. and fished in the area for many decades, and am quite familiar with both OK and northwest Arkansas. Springdale is centrally located for your needs – 9 miles from Fayetteville with the U of Arkansas. All the cities you listed are very close to the backwaters of Beaver Lake which has excellent fishing. Youre in striking distance of several lakes on the OK side including Grand, Eucha, Hudson and Spavinaw. The other thing I like about Springdale is it is located on HWY 412 which gives you a straight shot to Tulsa or MT Home and you would be close to medical services.Hope this helps
Fayetteville is a good selection. Some of the NW AR clan will be along to help out. Obviously schools are a factor, so figure out if you want smaller schools or larger, athletic or academic? Then you have plenty of options. Then determine community size and distance from whatever your needing to be around, or the distance to water and etc. Some south western MO areas are pretty nice small communities.
Either gonna have to lay down the 1 acre desire or loosen your belt on 300. An acre on any lake in Ar is gonna be more like the big 1 unless its a very small home in bella vista. Wife from bentonville. Schools in bville(public) FAR better than fayetteville(family here too). Springdale probably most affordable but bville schools still better? To me with bias from wife.Last edited by clownshoes on June 5th, 2011, 1:03 pm, edited 2 times in total.C.O.D. Jr. III
Lived in Springdale all my life. Great place to live. I would suggest Springdale or Bentonville from the best school perspective though Rogers has good ones as well. When you are looking for houses, I would suggest anything west of 540 unless you are moving close to the lake. NWA is a great place to live. Your probably Walmart supplier?
I have lived in Fayetteville, Lowell, Springdale, and Rogers. Bentonville has the number 1 rated schools in the state. Bella Vista has some pretty sweet private lakes with excellent fishing but traffic is a nightmare in the morning and evening. There are several small lakes and city lakes all around NWA that are decent and Beaver is no more than 20 minutes from any of the towns. Springdale would be my very last choice. It has really changed over the last 5 years. Unless you speak Spanish, it is hard to co-exist there. I took my life savings and invested in property on the Lowell / Rogers border near I540 and it is by far the best place I have lived yet. Conevient to everything and no thugs to run down the neighborhoods. Best Wal-Mart Supercenter in the state, Pinnacle Promenade Mall, Several Excellent Restaurants, Hospital, Academy, World Gym, etc… Look between exits 78 and 81 on the West side of the Interstate… That is where the building has still been going on (even through the recession). Its booming and property values will be far better in the future. 20 minutes to Prairie Creek or Hickory Creek on Beaver, 1 hr 15 minutes to Grand Lake, 1 hr 10 minutes to Tablerock, etc…
