trying to get use to the smartcraft gauges on my new to me 06 puma with 225 proxs..how many of you guys have it linked up to your lowrance or whatever electroniccs u run? it keeps saying check paddle which is driving me craxy..it wont really give you all the info u would like to have..like accurate fuel used intant fuel economy etc..maybe i just dont know what the heck im doing? also my gps tells me how far ive run and the smartcraft reads something different>>any help appreciated while i get use to the whole setup. thanks.

Page 26 of this document explains how to turn off the paddle sensor. Your boat doesnt have one and that is an easy fix and one many of them have. Just put the paddle sensor on “NO” and that error will disappear. It will be on the CAL 2 section on the tach gauge (which is the gauge you should be seeing the error). http://northamerica.mercurymarine.com/_ … Manual.pdf That document is actually your user guide on those gauges. Brush, I have looked for the instructions I followed to link my SC1000 guages to my Lowrance 522 and cant find em tonight. I think angler557 posted them? He and I both have them set up this way along with having one of the fuel guages set from percentage to read actual gallons while leaving the tach guage to read percentage of fuel. This is a GREAT way to dial in your rig for optimium cruise MPG since you dont have to worry about a twig clogging your pitot up everytime youre out playing with the setup. It was not real hard to do, basically attached two wires coming off the GPS to two wires coming out of the SC system. Now remembering wich four wires were involved…..Ive slept since then LOL.

If you just hold down the programming buttons, it will have a follow through screen. You need to hold them through the first sequence. The first programming sequence is only minor functions.
