How hard is it to remove a duel console?

Want a cat… But some that i look at have duel console. How hard is it to remove? will i need to do glass work for any holes? will doing this compromise the BCB warranty?

The console is fixed to the boat with 5 bolts accessed through the rod locker and an access panel on the wall of the boat. After the bolts are removed, you will need to use shims to remove the console as it is glued to the cap. After the console is removed, you can call Bass Cats parts dept. to get some Pro Dec caps to finish out your bolt holes. This will not compromise your lifetime hull warranty. BCB

In others experience with this should I try and remove mine or have the dealer do it? Keeping in mind if it does not have skin on it I cant fix it. I tourn. fish almost every weekend in the Spring -fall and solo fish the winter . How hard is it to put back in after the rut is over…

It is a tedious process and you can if you go slow with small plastic or wooden wedges. The reinsertion we have seen done with foam tape to enhance the fit for in and out use.

I removed mine and it wasnt to bad. My passenger console had silicone for an adhesive.I just took my time and tapped 1/8″ thick shims all the way down the front of the console and it came right off with a slight tug. (After removing the bolts of course) I then used 3M tape (with the black traction stuff on one side) to cover up the holes and scuff marks where the console was in front of the rod locker, it turned out looking real good.You will probably need to do some buffing where the console rubbed the side of the boat.

I was looking at removing my console on my 2010 Puma FTD. I see 4 bolts. The head of the bolt is inside the rod locker. Do people remove the carpet to get to those bolts or are they locked down and stay put?

I did it – removed the console! To answer my question – yes you have to pull back the carpet. You also have to pull back the carpet inside the glove box to get to the bolts there. I took out the 3 bolts in the rod locker, 1 bolt under the console into the side of boat, and another both inside the glove box. Then I used the plastic shims and started working it off. I had a whale of a time. It seemed to be loose but just would not come off. I was thinking man they use some good glue. Then I took a flashlight and found a second bolt inside the glove box that was holding it on. That one was a bear as the nut inside the gunnel was right at the handrail light. So there were 6 bolts to loosen.Thought I would say that in case someone else takes theirs off and cant. Now to get the adhesive off.
