Best prop for a 2007 optimax on a 2007 pantera 2.

I was wanting a little input on what everybody is running on there 2007 pantera 2 with a 200 optimax or similar boat. Also what kind of speeds they are getting out of it with what kind of performance.

25 Fury. Low to mid 70s depending on load.

I run a 26 Fury and see 71-72 w/ a full tournament load (partner, all his gear, full gas, full livewells, all my gear). Running normal load I see 73-74 and bumping the rev limiter.

Set your jack plate flush with the inner plates/outer plates to start with. I run this combo (26 Fury) on a 2011 model. The inner part of the jack plate is 1/8″ lower (at the most) than the outer plate. Keep in mind the fury likes to be run a little deeper. I may still need to drop it a touch more.Hope this reference helps.

Not wanting to hi-jack post but wanting to know? I have an 02 Classic with big block 200hp Opti and the 25″ Croxton Razor3, the inner plate approx. 1/2″ above the outer from how GRRR884 is showing as flush. Rig running better than any of the other three props I have tried but per info here seems like I may be running way too high? Not running perfect but still better than others. Anyone know what might be a better measure to be at than 1/2″ above? Not sure if Croxton prop should be run at similar height as a Fury. Thanks

GRR is correct on “flush” in the pic. My impression of the croxton razor (Ill bet larger diameter) is that it would be more similiar to a Tempest than a Fury. From what Ive read he seems to be a bigger fan of the Tempest than the Fury. That being said the Fury “likes” to be lower than a Tempest, all things being equal-weight,temps,etc. To the original question, what are you running now? prop,pitch,rpm,load,temps?

Im running 69 mph with a 26 fury at 5730 rpm with a half tank of gas and unloaded. Two people and 4 batterys with a fortrex 101 trolling motor. I am running the jackplate 1/8 below flush. Seems like I should be getting better mph. Also it is a handful to drive. I am throwing about a 4 to 5 foot rooster tail. I tried to run a 25p fury but it keep breaking loose and snapping to the right. I dont know what was going on so I put the 26p fury back on. The prop is new. Also it doesnt feel like I have any boat lift compared to my older pantera ll.Last edited by hennessey10 on October 15th, 2012, 11:53 pm, edited 2 times in total.
