I, too, replaced my backup lights with the new version. When I received the lights one black wire had a ground ring and the other had a male positive plug, just like the lights I was replacing. So, I hooked up the lights that way and…nothing. Checked power, ground etc., still nothing. In frustration I attached the light directly to my battery and still nothing. I then reversed the wires – ground wire to positive terminal and power wire to negative terminal…instant light. Had to cut and splice wires (negative ring to former positive wire, positive plug to former ground wire) and now everything works fine.
