rbcat, The jack plate is set approximately 1 1/4 inches upward from what would be level with the plate, prop = Yamaha Vmax Series 25 Ti, ventless. To date, the best run is 65 mph (GPS) at 5000 rpm at 75 degress F on fairly flat water. I dont know how much faster she will go, but have to admit Im not the most skilled at working through the chine walk. Im not a tournament fisherman, so running in the 50s is OK for me. Primary purposes for the PIV/200 hp are the confidence to navigate big lakes and also fish smaller lakes and rivers.

Rbcat,Hope you are one in the same per recent email exchange.I think in your email you patterned motor height for your SHO similar to Mercs. If that is the case you will loose significant performance by doing this. SHOs like to be high on the plate opposite to Mercs. Please correct me if that is wrong. Get your motor raised up on the plate. BassCat can help you too. Id call them to get you started. I never played with motor height adjustments with the PIV/SHO. If I had it I can assure you I would be measuring my motor height, raising my Yamaha with one eye on the WPSI and run it till I dialed it in.Here are some examples: Bama96s PII/200SHO was at level plates and was turning 5600-5700 rpms. He raised his motor another 1 full inch and posted a gain to 5900 rpms.My Eyra/200SHO started at level Jackplates and was getting 5600-5700 rpms too. I rasised my JP as high as 1 5/8″ below pad. Over the weekend I was getting 5900 rpms.Hope this helps. Raise your motor and be safe.
