Joey, I know things are tough for you right now. I could only imagine how it must be to have to sell your boat knowing how much you love it and this sport. Just dont forget that you dont need to have a big fancy boat to enjoy the sport of fishing. You have made many good friends through this board and there will always be plenty of us willing to take you fishing, myself included. Of course, you will need to stick around on the board to keep up with whats happening around here. You will rebound from whatever problems you are having. Most people are much more resiliant than they realize. Stay positive and put some trust in the man upstairs and in the end you will be better of than before. Good luck and God Bless you.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
Joey, some of the things you mention today seem eerily similar to my situation. About 1 1/2 yrs ago, I looked at my boat in the garage…gas prices going up, kids/wife to look out for, kids growing up fast, insurances, ways to trim money. At the time, I had decided to quit fishing. I was going to look out for my family, do some needed home improvements, and take them on a trip like when I was a kid.I sold that PII, and all but four of my CastAway/Curado combos. Paid things down, got improvements done, and went on a 2 week trip out to Yellowstone. Went fly fishing. That is when I realized that I do not need the biggest boats/ fanciest equipment. I looked around, and much to my surprise, I saw lots and lots of people enjoying fishing with all sorts of ideas/inventions/custom made “works for me” enthusiasm. I began fishing out of a War Eagle 1648/25 hp duck boat w/ tm. That opened up a lot of hidden/suppressed enthusiasm for fishing that I thought was gone.I am sorry for you having to sell your boat, and some dreams do not/cannot become reality. Do not give up your passion for fishing, even if just from the shoreline for a while. The feel of the rod/reel, the spray of water off of the spool as the bait speeds out from the rod to find that fish, these are many things that a lot of us have grown up with that we take for granted. And sometimes forget.I got back into a BassCat in May-a 96 Eyra. Would I change anything over the last 2 yrs–No. I simply have rearranged my priorities, as a lot of us do. Most of us “just get by”. Good luck, stay in touch.Alan96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
There are many other ways and many other days to get this all together for you. No, you may not have the fanciest rig then. No, you may not have the fastest and bets ridin combo. Though you will still go fishing. And you may even enjoy taking someones cash out of a pocket ride. Joey, we are very glad that you enjoy it here, and you are not going to drift away. your just going to kick back in a different gear. We only try hard to treat folks as we would want to be treated. We cant give stuff away and stay in business. We cant offer huge discounts to the world. Though we can definitely offer what we think is the best overall package of everything, and we try to do that every morning when we wake up! Hope things would out for you “flatlander”. Best of wishes and God Bless,BCB
Joey, good luck man. I truly do know the feeling. I have observed the bottom side of financial hell so many times that Ive lost count. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Put your head down, lay back your ears, bare your teeth, and get after it. Youll be back.I was out of fishing for a while, due to finances, then bought a used boat, financed a new motor and busted the hull on the boat. Then I found BCB, truly believe it was divine guidance, and everthing has been uphill ever since. You have a lot of “family” on here. Some you have never met and may never meet. So stick around.Martin
to larry and others who responded to my graph question. i finally got it sorted out. i had to update software on the graph and now the lake chip is working great. thanks again for responding and helping.
Man, You guys were in cognito that week? Where were you Desert Dwellers hiding at? Glad you had a good time and we look forward to it again! BCB
We were hidding behind the BBQ at the Inn. We are not used to those 30 degree days. Had to do something to stay warm. It was great seeing everyone again this year. We didnt do all that great in the fishing department this year, but did catch a few. Even though the fishing was tough, we still had a great time as always. Glad you and your son made it home safe SilvrTour. The fishing will be better next year, so come on back. You will know where to find us and we will have a steak on the grill and a cold beer ready when you get in. Thanks again BCB for putting on a great event. You all are some hard working folks. DBasketman, shoot me your address and I will see about getting some of that BBQ sauce shipped off to you.Jason Desertdweller.com Get Your Bass in the Boat!
As always, we had a great time. Sorry about the disappearing act BCB. Just could not get away from the BBQ this year. Thanks to Doug “The BBQ King”, Pappy, Phil “Mr. Bean”, Sam “Mr. I Would Not Go In There Yet”, Joey, Ray, Kevin, Judd “Pork Chop”, Bob, SilvrTour, Jody and everybody else at the Inn for all the laughs and good times this year. We will see you all again next year. Special thanks to BCB for doing such an awesome job once again this year dispite all the hurdles with weather and all the affects and changes caused from it. Hope it will dry up soon out there for you. I will see what I can do about sending some blue skys your way. Ted.DESERTDWELLER.COM “GET YOUR BASS IN THE BOAT”

How is your recovery coming along? good I hope
I have degenerative disc disease and they want to fuse mine also. What was the deciding factor to have yours fused…….besides pain obviously?
The deciding factor was I couldnt walk more than 50 feet without sitting down. The back was bad but went downhill quickly. I feel good 3 weeks after the surgury and walked around Costco for about 30 minutes today without a problem. Dr. said I would be back on the water about mid March. I talked to many people who had the surgury before I made my decision. It appears the quality of the Dr. matters the most. Good luck to you.
LOZman – I missed your surgery but wil pray for a good recovery. My best friend is getting that done today! He is only 37.
Lets see your boat!
