Hiway 5 in south MO

Hi all,Wondering if any of you folks could comment on what highway 5 is like between Lebanon and Gainseville, MO? I will be towing a 26 ft sailboat from north central MO down to Bull Shoals on Wed. Am considering the highway 5 route as a possible alternative to I-63.thanks!

Hwy 5 is REAL GOOD road from Mansfield to Gainesville , but I cant comment on the rest of it .

As bigcatter said Mansfield to Gainesville is real good. Most of the stretch from Lebanon south is pretty good as well. A few places that git a little curvy. From Gainesville south into arkansas is real curvy.

Its not a bad drive and is the best route time wise.

Thanks, 5 sounds like a good route. The boat is going to Theodosia, so no worries beyond Gainesville.
