I have a 99 Cougar, I thought there was dry storage under the seats but every time we get a good rain everything down there get SOAKED. Is there something I can do to fix this? I think the water is going through the seat because it is even standing on top of stuff. Any ideas?

My right side rod locker gets all wet inside every time it rains!! I need to contact Bass Cat about this!! Its like it seeping in in between the door and seal!! Looks to me like the rod locker door is twisted!! Dont know how that could have happened!!

Which seats do you have? The replacement 03 and later seats are tough to fit up and they are more prone to leaking. If the seats are the original seat on that 99 Cougar, then they should be fairly dry unless the trim seal is missing or damaged around the lip. The rod box on the other one we dont know the year model pri721? Should be a solid plastic bottom unless those are not original. Then there were some with holes in the bottom and Parts should have informed someone of the situation upon the retro install.

I bought a non current 09 Cougar ftd new in April and I have the same issue. Every rain or when I wash the boat the under seat storage carpet is wet. Not an issue for me other than the first time when I didnt catch it and it mildewed. The smell was awful. I aired it out and now only store plastics in plastic boxes under there. As soon as I get home every trip wet or not I flip them open and leave them open. The rest of the boxes are dry but I always leave them open just in case.

I have a 07 Pantera 2!! i know were its coming from but i just dont see how the rod locker Warped that way!! It is flush at the front but as the rod locker goes back towards the console you can see the twist in it!!

They can all be reasonably dry. The lids being aluminum allows some warping when something gets closed in them, such as a bait.

check the bolt holes where the lid jacks mount to the fiberglass. my 05 PIV did this new, and that was where my problem was… 99 JAGUAR 225 OPTIMAX

The only downside to installing the new style seats in an older model is water intrusion into the under seat storage. The bench seats were always water tight. So when I installed new style seats in my 00 Jag I cut a plastic food tray in half and installed it over the seat opening. I cut it in half so I could still access the storage w/out having to remove the tray. The water was only coming in from the back of the seat where the bottom fit into the back, so the water is kept out by the tray placed over the back of the storage opening.
