My 92 pantera II has a 3.0l evinrude. Ive been reading about pumas with 225s and 250s runiing 25 and 26 pitch props and speeds in upper 60s to low 70s. So why does mine only have a 21 pitch prop on it? Granted it pulls like a frieght train on holeshot but top is only 57.2 with a heavy load of gas, gear and butt. Motor spins 5800 to 5900 rpms 23 to 26lbs water pressure.I dont know where jp is set. Ive never owned boat with one before so Im affriad Im little ignorant to the settings. It just dont make sense to me. ps. Ididnt really steal the boat as Ive implied in earlier post. I just got an extrmly good deal on an awsome boat. I love being a bass cat owner after just two weeks

A larger pitch is probably reccomended for more top end. Im running a 25 on an 85 Caracal and getting about 70 top end. Hole shot… Not so good.Dan Yonan. ———————————————————

I assume you have a 200 hp E rude. Theres several reasons why you may have a 21 p prop. The prop may not be the right style or type, prop may be damaged, engine may have lost some hp since its and older engine, engine height setting, boat heavier than normal meaning there could be water inside the foam. There could be a number of things that may be causing your slower speed when comparing to new modeled boats. Good luck fishing and enjoy the boat!

the prop is a cableas high perfoemance prop (for what that is worth) .The motor is very sound with compression over 115lbs and only about 3% variance between all 6. Yes it is a 200hp E rude. The boat is very clean with no marks in the hull to allow for water logging of the foam. That rig ran either a 25 Renegade, or a 27 or 25 Shooter.
