Kerth, is your motor mounted in the 2nd or 3rd motor mount holes, from top down? I am having the same issue! A 27 Trophy is what most of the 250 guys are running. It will put you down 100-150 RPMs, but it will move you forward faster! Phil, do you ever get out on Lake Houston! I need your help. I have raised mine up, down and went from a 26P Tempest, to a 25P Trophy, to a 27P Trophy, to a 26P Trophy and back to a 26P Tempest. I cant get this thing over 70……..2008 Puma/ 225 Pro XS/6″ Manual. The motor is mounted in the 2nd holes. I tried flush and 1/4 above flush with every one of those props, but it would slow it down to 64 GPS. Raise it up to about an inch above flush and 68-69 is it, with 5700 RPMs at the most. I cant find the sweet spot in this thing. This is all with 1 guy, 25G Gas and about 125# of gear. I had Will Bowden do a laptop test on the motor and he said it was perfect. Shouldnt this thing hit the low 70s?The only thing that he could not test was the reeds. Could bad reeds make it not open up fully at the top? He said something about a restricted fuel filter and TSB on the early Pro XS motors. I have a June 2006 build dated motor, so I have the old filter.Anyway, Phil if you could help me get it set up right, I would appreciate it. Anywhere, anytime!James281-355-8686Jewalston@aol.comJames
