hamby bow protector?

Have any of you guys with hambys lost a big chunk of the hamby . I crawed under my p2 and i have got a big gouge out of my hamby almost to the fiberglass. I have had 4 hambys and never had one do this just wondering what happened and if anybody else has had this happen. I thought they were indestructable.

They are not indestructible, and Hamby may replace it with the part under warranty, though not the install. You can fill that area up with windshield adhesive urethane and it should last just fine. If you have a local truck bed liner shop they can fill it in for you also. BCB

I do not use a Hambys any more just for that reason. Line-X now makes one.. you know the.. the spray in bed liner people.. I have one on my new Eyra and so far so good!!! Little bit thicker materials.. and very durable.Last edited by TexasMo on January 17th, 2011, 2:36 pm, edited 1 time in total.

How much to go with the Line-X bow protection if you dont mind me asking. I had Line-X in my last truck bed and loved it.

i think I paid either$300 for it.. installed.. i will double check though… might have been $400 hundred.But still.. small price to pay for quality product.

I cant see how the hamby is going to get destroyed, its a major inprovement from other keel guard companies, I did see the line X on a show and thought ya thats gonna be pretty bullet proof, I see where it might service the aftermarket but might not work for boat builders unless they invest in the equiptment to shoot it

No.. it is not sprayed on.. it is glued on accordingly.The material is very thick.. and not very flexiable.. so it take more than one set of hand to put it on.They pre-fabricate it.. and then attach it like a Hambys. I know it is more durable.. plus it is a bit wider and covers a little more surface space than a Hambys.

It got cut on a metal something. I suppose a big sharp edged rock may do the same damage.Good thing the Hambys took the blow and not your boat.
