Some folks go hunting the day before Thanksgiving and some folks launch their Puma on Lake Bomoseen VT and take their son fishing. Jim and Jody White got more drive then me and many others to be out in this stuff. Think Santa buzzed them at some point……

Have fished in those conditions before. I didnt like it then, and do not plan to try it again soon.

They were out Friday too with better luck fishing. They tried to go out of Champlain near my camp but the launch was iced in. They went back to Bomo and got some nice smallies and a decent pike plus some other stuff. Snow still on deck from Wednesdays outing……

Just keep it nose high when it melts as it will make a real mess of the boxes when things clog up. BCB

And we were complaining about highs in the 40s recently. Today was 75 and windy as heck but the fish were biting anyway. It was windy up here too but warmer. Most of the foot of snow we got Wednesday has melted and thankfully, because the ground wasnt frozen before we got the snow, it has been adsorbed into the ground. Champlain (100 miles north of here) actually could use all the water volume it can get. Lake was extremely low going into winter season. Great for the history buffs though as old footings, piers, etc. were visible due to the low water level.
