Hello2016 Puma FTD-just hooked up tonight for morning run and No trailer lights at all-None. No running lights, backup or brake lights. checked all my wires, all look good, ground looks good meaning no frays or breaks. Sprayed conduction solvent on my connections and still nothing. On my truck, the wiring is good as I hooked up to a different trailer I have and it was fine.I dont even know where to start-I am afraid my weekend on St Clair may be shot.thanks for any suggestions.

Im not very electrical so pardon if this sounds silly. Did you try hooking up the trailer to another vehicle? I know you tried the truck on another trailer. Hopefully someone will chime in.

First thing to do is check your ground with a multimeter with trailer hooked to tow vehicle.

Yes, ground wire it is. even when it looks “good” check it.Mine looked good. I unscrewed it, sprayed some conduction solvent on it and now I am good to go.thanks all

Could be a fuse in the truck also, I’ve had that happen. Truck was almost new and I stopped by a Ford dealership and they found the issue in just a few minutes.

Glad you got her working!! If all lights are not working and power from the plug is there….Always check the ground!

I carry a spare wire in the truck that has clips on it as the vast majority of my past trailer lighting issues have been ground problems. If the trailer lights arent working you can clip one end to the truck and the other to the trailer to see if you have a ground issue.

yes it was the ground on the trailer. took sometime in the dark to find it. tightened it up with some of that electrical spray stuff and all good.

grandpa ALWAYS said that if you have trailer light issues, it is a 99% chance that there is no ground
