I will have my boat a year in about three weeks. My question is what is the warranty length for things on the boat. For example, I think I have a sending unit out on one of the gas tanks. With the dealership way behind I went ahead and told them about it today and asked for be booked. However, it would help to make sure I know what kind of time limit there is on what items of the boat. Right now I have two things I think are minor and I was waiting for the dealership to get a little slack time from their busy schedule but went ahead and stopped by there today to tell them about them. When you think about it there are a lot of different items on a boat like mine a Cougar FTD. Thanks Moose
On most items (including sending unit) you have two years from original date of sale. Though those WEMA sending units have been pretty fail free, thus we think it could be something else possibly. BCB Warranty covers the boat and our workmanship for Two Years, and the LifeTime Warranty handles the hull, transom and stringer for Life. Though the components are under tehir own individual warranties. We honor some as a customer courtesy and that policy is unwritten. The BCB Warranty is the only publicly distributed warranty on the back of every BCB Brochure. BCBLast edited by Bass Cat Boats on July 29th, 2008, 1:35 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Thanks for clarification. My dealer has been good about items. They are just swamped right now and didnt want the boat to be stored in their lot for a couple of weeks. I have a Yamaha motor and guages and the right tank (driver side)I keep kind of half full so to balance weight (I am a pretty big guy). I ran it out the other day on the right and switched to the left and then later put about half in the right tank. The right tank shows to be empty all the time and flashes. I just assumed it was the sending unit but it might be the guage. The other tank (left or passenger) shows correctly. I know some read these posts. Let me assure everybody that I am just inquiring about some things and in case some read these I am very pleased with the Cougar that I got last year. There little things sometimes that happen and the BASS CAT family is great in helping with information and technical things. I dont think I have ever said this but I am not a pro fisherman so I have only had four boats in the past (two of the other major brands), an older Bass Cat and this Cougar. This has been the best I have experienced. Also, I like that the gas tanks are in the back with two and a switch. It allows me to actually see the gas level and load the sides by weight distribution per gas load. I have plenty of storage in the front compartments and dont need the back storage (I had them in another boat). I hope that the Cougar style remains in the Bass Cat line. I also like this forum. I wish I knew more of the people. I probably look at this everyday to learn things. Moose
Thats what this forum is for MooseG. !

I have seen most of you reply on different topics. Looks like you guys really love each other or something. Lets see one of you doesnt have a boat right now, Phil, right. Tideman is a Alabama fan. The bass chaser is a Yamaha guy. Am I remembering right? I think BCB may have given me a new nickname MooseG.
I did have a Yamaha on my 06 Puma but last 2 have been back to black. Next one will be black unless something really surprising happens, bottom line is I like going fast to much . But we all catch it for something Oh and we are definitely good friends, I have met some really great people from this board in addition to learning some pretty cool stuff. So come on down and have some fun with us, I think we are going to have a lot of welcomed new faces this year and I am looking forward to it! JL
MooseG You hit the nail on the head. Yes, basschaser is the Yamaha / Minnkota guy.
