Ill help you out. Just give the wheel to me! I have a Momo on mine now. Seriously those decals should not be coming off. Are they in recessed areas? You can see the mouth on the bottom bass has a light spot. I would have really thought they would have been painted and sorta clear coated like an aluminum rim on a vehicle.
Mine came off too. I remember wondering what that black U was floating in the water. Oh, it was a C.I got some black paint and small fine brushes. One of these days Im going to paint them back on.

I was thinking the same thing on the clear coat. Last Friday was the first time it was ever out in the rain and noticed it when I got back to the dock.
Wow! I am sure BC will help you with that!
They came off on my P4 and came off on my Puma, I dont really even notice it anymore, i have thought about painting them as well, but usually forget about it until the next time im out on the water.
Count me in on the Wheelie Neelie BC logo…. JLaw, Im like you with the wheel. If there is a paint to recommend Id do it till myself till BC finds a fix on the wheel. Obviously the powder coat inlay is not holding up.
It has been a struggle on both wheels. We have spoke inserts for the newer wheel in stock.
Finger nail polish works great, pick your color, and it lasts a while.
Im wondering if an adhesive bubble in-lay wouldnt do the trick…. I bet it would look sharp too.

Trust me guys, I fully understand the warranty fixes, and i dont disagree with anyone who chooses that route, Im just more apt to use warranty when i know there is an ultimate fix for the issue i am bringing it in for, which right now there does not appear to be a final sticker that will adhere to this long term. For me i have better use of my time and my dealers, but that works for me. For others (and again i agree with you as thats your choice and rightfully so), if a little sticker on the steering wheel being fixed is what it takes to remain happy than i agree with bringing the boat back to the dealer and getting a new wheel or center cap installed. And I fully understand the “i paid 40-72K$” and this thing should be perfect mentality, but for an issues such as a small sticker, ill just go with painting in the little recess areas and call it a day. To each their own.
Thanks Fly, you are correct GRR884HC battle scars?? I have a friend who just bought a new 2013 P2 and his came off the 1st week he owned it. How in the world is that a battle scar?I know the wheel is made over seas but its still a part on a BCB boat and it should have better quality than that. It seems like people on here are scared to say anything bad about BCB or if they do they are jumped on. When we buy a BCB we are making them richer not anyone else. Its stupid for people to get mad about issues they have with their boat.I mean people can go buy any boat they want, so when people pick BCB and something is wrong any normal person would want it fixed or correct. I mean its my hard earned money and I didnt have to buy a cat but I did.Now that being said I like my boat and have for the most part been happy with it. I have had a lot of issues for a new boat and yes it has rubbed me the wrong way. I am just telling my story because this is what a forum is for. I thank BCB for doing this, I dont know of any other company that does this. Yet again some of these issues could be prevented IMO. I would be happy to list all the issues I have had with my NEW boat and maybe some of yall would understand. FYI I had Ken at Airport beggin me to buy another Ranger or Skeeter but I picked Basscat. Sorry if I high jacked this thread. I just speak the truth. Last edited by Guest on April 3rd, 2013, 9:10 pm, edited 3 times in total.0 people like thisMORE Mark5795 Posts, 488, ||Registered Member
Coming from a coatings back ground (Automotive and Aircraft painting) my suggestion to Bass cat is just stop putting the paint on the wheel.. Todays coatings are fussy and unpredictable on anything short of basic steel. Easy fix for all is leave them off.. Most people would never know the difference.
High Cotton – I also call them Battle Scars …………..its just a sticker guys not a busted hull due to a 2 foot wave at 45mph
