Last 2 trips my vision touch pad didnt work properly. As soon as I turned the power switch on, both navigation ligths lit up on the touch pad. When I turned them off they came back on in a minute or 2. Also vision touch pad didnt work properly. Had trouble getting aerator to come on. When I cut main power switch off, lights on touch pad stayed on and light of power switch was still on. Only when I cut the swith off at the bow did they all go off. Could the problem be the touch pad, black cox or some other problem? I had black box replaced by my dealer last spring which “fixed” the problem then but having same issues as before but worse this time. They seem to be stumped. Want to get this problem fixed before spring. Any suggestions appreciated.
Not sure how bcb wires that automatic switch in the system. But my first point of interest would be that float switch at the back of the boat .Im sure BCB will kick in on this one2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
panel is bad. call BCB parts
If it is not on Auto and the auto switch Is faulty, then it is probably a faulty A10 unit. There are literally thousands of the A10 Panels in use and very few have issues in percentage if units in operation.
Try a reboot of your A 10
It may be the a10 panel. But I would dig deep on this. Hot leads and grounds does some weird stuff. Before I forked out the money for a panel I would do a little more investigating. Know if its still under a warranty by all means call bcb at let them send u one. The reboot might work. U dont kno till you try.awhile back I had some issues and I had convinced myself it was the panel. But I just didnt run enough test. In the end it was a wiring issue. Im just saying2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
Called my local dealer yesterday and he said it might be a loose ground wire. Bout to check that. If that is not it, how do you reboot the A10?
Unplug the a10 panel on the back side of the panel.leave it unplugged for a few minutes and plug it back up2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
One suggestion. I always start my search at the terminal block at the back of the boat in the bilge area. This block and the connections at th8s block has caused a many of headaches2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
Thanks for all the responses. Turned out it was a circuit breaker on the cranking battery. Connection had corrosion causing weird stuff to happen. Replaced it and so far so good. Shout out to Bass Cat dealer, Dotties Marine for helping me run down and fix the problem. Call Darrin and his folks for your next Bass Cat! Awesome customer service!
The surest repair is replacement. It is vaguely possible to check the ribbon cable where it connects to the black electronic/relay box. But it really sounds like the touch pad itself has simply decided to go south for the winter. But it probably wont come back home again. BCB sells them for $120 without the bezel. For that you get the pad and the electronic box. Simple replacement although peeling the old pad off the bezel takes a little effort to get it going.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
If the switch at the bow is the 3 position switch, you should always keep it in the neutral position. It “overrides” the touch pad functionality – mostly to allow control of bow/stern lights while night fishing.Your Signature …
Havent thought about the bow switch. After I had my new Garmin installed in the dash is when I started having problems with the vision touch pad. Garmin unit would only come on if the main power switch was on and the bow switch was on. Thinking there may be a problem with how it was wired in.
If the installer was sloppy, they might have pulled unnecessarily on the ribbon cable from the touch pad to the electronic control box. Also possible it is just pulled out a bit although there is a sorta-positive-lock on the connector, ribbon cable connectors are really weak.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
Thanks for the help. I will check it out this weekend.
