Topic: problems hooking the SC guage to my LX17 GPS unit

I have connected my SC1000 speedometer guage to my LXC17 GPS unit the way the diagram instructed that was posted on this site. I went through and made the changes in the guages and the gps unit. After wiring it up and making the changes I took off for the lake. Once I got there and started across the water the speedometer was not registering, the gps unit was registering 65mph. I would like to get this fixed, due to the glare on the gps unit from the sun it makes it the unit hard to see. Is there anyone who can HELP me. It would be easier the see the speedometer than the gps unit while running across the water. I would appreciate any help anyone wants to provide. Allan Lynn Iowa Park, TX

If you have it wired how it shows and you have the gauge setup so the source is GPS, the thing I missed was setting the GPS to send at the correct bps. I believe it was 9600.

Some Lowrance units have to be reset every time you power up to enable the NMEA GPS link. BCB

BCB, do i need to do a master reset or do i need to go to the menu page and select the reset option? Allan

If your unit is one of the Lowrance units that looses the setting, you will have to go to the menu page every time you power up.
