They are taller by several inches. If you have low clearance then you will have to remove the pole from the bracket. Probably not a big deal to remove, but something else that would be a pain in the rear after a long day of fishing.
Power Poles all the way baby! I can lower them when I get under trees or bridges by pushing a button. If one happens to get stuck I can always get it unstuck by using big motor or by hand if I have to. With a Talon if it gets stuck then your STUCK! Also when you get around marsh mud, which is very sticky I just wash it off at end of day. Im not sucking it up back into the bracket/holder. Sooner or later I feel like that mud will get in something up there. In order to lower or remove the talon you have to undo 4 bolts. Who wants to do that, especially from the inside of the boat. Phil can vouch that I use the HELL out of mine and (knock on wood) i have never had a problem. IMHO Ill get off my box now. LOL
Little question for you basscat guru , im about ordering a minnkota talon to add on my sabre ftd with manuel jack plate, witch bracket should i order de 3,6or 9 inch!
On the detwiler, you will have to use the one that goes between the motor and jackplate. I would get the new adjustable bracket so you can position them were you want them. http://store.minnkotamotors.com/products/623153/Talon_Last edited by Issy1 on April 7th, 2013, 2:11 am, edited 1 time in total.
Can anyone recommend bracket needed for a 2008 Cougar / slide master / Yamaha combo for a Minn Kota Talon? I have the E-ladder on port side as well. Would the new adjustable bracket work? I am looking at buying a used talon and not sure if the bracket coming with it will work for me and I can buy it without bracket if I need to. Thanks in advance. Tony D2017 Eyra / 250 Merc Pro XS
