Doug, how did you do at Greers today.? Hope you beat Ward and came away with a little cash and braggin rights. pant 2 Bob
I did not attend. Thus the chicken with the diaper. Mr Swann was third. Never practiced. Thumped a bunch of guys that had practiced through tornadoes. Second check in a monthC.O.D. Jr. III
Thanks Ward, sorry you could not be there. Was curious as to how they did since the water is so high. The few spots I have there are on humps and with water as high as it is, they are now in 50 foot of water. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. pant 2 Bob
Yep–Mr. Basketman(as we have to call him now) was only a smidgeon out of first place—-He had 4 fish–had he caught the 5th–he would have had 1st. Still a great showing. PS—Mr Addison–I understand that Mike Tyson is looking for a fishing partner–hell even pay for the motel rooms….Lad
Greers Ferry was tough, but i like it like that ! I didnt get to prefish, but with the lake 23 high, and tornados passing thru the day before i figured it would be a bit rough. I wish i had it to do over again,,,,,because i sure woulda picked up my jig sooner and covered more water. Some of the fish were shallow but were striking short when they did hit the bait, but i finally went a bit deeper on steeper banks and got a few bites. Again, a bit later to figure out what to change, but not too late to salvage a day on the water. Boy, all that sounded good didnt it ! Bottom line is I GOT LUCKY !You dont show up to these things and get a check without doing your homework,,,,at least not very often,,,,,,but i had no idea my little fish would get a check, none. Better lucky than good ? Also, i got to fish with a great young man out of Bryant, Reid Prescott, and i enjoyed his netting job as well. He was a pleasure to spend the day with, and his dad and uncle were great to meet too. Bill(dad), runs a BCB, and i think Reid will follow his lead on boat lines ! Gene (uncle) is a charachter, and caught a few fish,,,,so i know Reid may have a chance of learning how to put some in the boat if i can get him around the river someday ! I really have enjoyed all my draw partners this year, and all have been proficient young fishermen who will kick my butt sooner than i like to believe ! As far as P.A. having a place to stay and fish tournaments,,,,,,,,NO HABLA !Last edited by dbasketman on May 5th, 2008, 2:17 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Hey PA…heard you were the expert on coangler management.C.O.D. Jr. III
Doug, just wanted to say thanks for the compliments about my son, Reid…I must say that he hasnt quit talking about his day on the lake with you and has had nothing but good things to sayabout his experience…As for his boat choice, hes a BCB man all the way just like dad!!! There is no way that you could get him into another brand of boat, especially since hes seen first hand the “T” and “R” brands in the previous tournaments…As for his vocabulary, Reid did learn a few new words and we laugh about his favorite, “CLW”…Doug, I think you will know what that stands for…Once again, thanks for giving my son a great experience on Greers Ferry
