Alright ladies and gentlemen,For those of you who have dared to shell out the funds on Lithium batteries either for your troller, cranker, or both can you please share what type of setup you are running. Im seeing 12 volt setups that look very similar to the 24, 27, 31 series conventional batteries that are wired in series just like my current setup. Im also seeing 36 volt battery packs that are the same size as one 31 series 12 volt normal battery, but they dont seem to have a very impressive reserve capacity. I was looking at different manufacturers and although there is some variance in price between the companies they all seem to be close but I have no idea which are preferred for marine use. Most importantly, how have they performed for you? Do you feel they are worth the money considering the weight savings, possible performance gains, lifespan of the batteries? I would have to go through 3 sets of the best AGMs to pay for the lithiums so thats a pretty big deal bit Im not totally against testing the waters. If you did gain any performance Id like to know how much. Im thinking shaving 150 pounds of weight from the back end of the boat should help considerably in hole shot and maybe gain 1 or 2 mph on top end. Im mostly looking for bullet proof reliability, long term service, and weight savings to improve hole shot and possibly gain a little on top end. Thank you for any ideas youd like to share.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
Only folks I know with em are elites who dont seem to advertise em much and a buddy whos a hedge fund owner worth more than all of us x 100. Never has seemed like A good idea to play the rare air of those two groups to me.C.O.D. Jr. III
Lets not… We remain uncommitted to the Lithium battery products. We have researched our private labeling of Lithium batteries from various manufacturers, some of which offer similar products in the USA. We are not presently engaging those products further and for reasons we choose not to discuss. BCB

polaris425 wrote:Didnt Chris Lanes boat catch on fire last year, and it was the battery compartment, and he had lith. batteries? That was actually 2 years ago. In a final report on bassmaster.com they reported they were 100% convinced the fire was not started by the lithium batteries.
Im totally convinced there has been more than 1 lost airliner due to lithium battery fires. Pax guys cant carry lithiums and we are trying to get some thoughtful regs on the cargo side. Once they get started, tremendous heat and hard to put out.
Well, those arent very good reviews for the Lithium batteries, LOL! I was just trying to satisfy my curiosity. I really thought there were a few more folks who were running them by now but I guess not. Hopefully my Pro Guides will last another couple of years and then I will be able to make a better decision. Im certainly not gonna get rid of good batteries to switch over. After what its costing me for my daughters wedding that happens to be next month I probably shouldnt even be thinking about spending any more money on the boat but I just cant help but leave well enough alone. I am running a 2014 eyra that was John Crews boat and it has the lithium pros. 2 – 36 volt trollers and a 12 volt cranking battery. I use a 36 volt lithium pro charger and a seperate 12 volt charger. Have never run out of juice and not had any problems. That being said though, I dont think I would pay the 5 grand this set up cost if these need replacing. They save weight and charge fast, but if I ever need to replace them I will probably go to a 24 volt set up. Hopefully these will last several years.
Ward, there is another guy you know that runs them… Lives in Texarkana TX. Shap, unbelievable how light and compact they are. Not in my wheelhouse for spending but Ive not seen any issues out on the water with them…96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
