Anyone had a swing tongue put on there non-swing trailer?

Hello, Im wondering if this is a possibility. I have a standard trailer without swing tongue. If anyone has had this done could you post a picture and maybe tell me where you had it done. Not sure if it matters but i have a 2006 tandem trailer with brakes for a P4 that i would like this done on. Thanks Larry

Yes, it is a possibility. BCB does this at the factory and you can arrange with your dealer (or BCB direct) on getting it there and pricing. This isnt mine but a picture I stole from someone who had their boat for sale Judd Lasiter

I had a swing away retro fitted to my boat last summer. It was done at the factory by BCB. This was on a new to me 96 Eyra tandem trailer. Very easy to use. The picture that Judd posted looks like the one I had done…and you do need a floor jack or something else to support the swing away.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner

I have the retro-fit swing-away, but never felt the need to put a jack under it during storage. However, I always block across the full front of the trailer using two 2 x 8s sandwiching a large square cement block and then relieve the weight off the wheel jack before I swing the tongue over.

Either way with a jack in the above picture or a concrete block/wood, BCB advised me to support the swing away when stowed in the garage. Was told this by Rick, Scott, and also the person that actually did the retro fit on my trailer. He was checking trailer lights during the OI when he saw my boat and introduced himself. My feeling is that there is torque on the left front side of the trailer if you just leave it supported by the wheel jack alone, increasing the need to support the swing-away portion. Blocking across the front cross member takes away all of that torque. Any thoughts on this BCB?

thanks for all the responses! any idea on approx cost to do this? I guess i need to factor fuel cost as well, its a long ride from austin,tx. I am curious though if a custom trailer manuf could do the same thing. I would lve for BCB to do it but it may not be cost effective after the fueel cost of getting there and back…

about $500…BCB will do a really nice job of matching the paint and detailing it…but that would be an expensive ride to Mtn Home for you.
