jag front cup holder on nose cap

While putting on the 1/2 inch custom tm plate I found an 18 inch piece of clear tubing with a little flare on the end which looks like it was pushed on the nipple of the cup holder but has fallen off, looks like bcb was diverting the water from the cup holder, Is this correct and does the tube need to be on this cup holder ????? or will the water drain to the bilge area anyway. If so why put it on in the first place? cant reach the cup holder thru the access hole to put back on. This one has got me thinking, please help and ease my mind !!!!!!

We think that is the steering fill tube and they are usually stored in the rod box when shipped.

I found this one up in the nose cap, behind the plug in of the tm access hole, not in a rod box!!!!!!!!

It does and thus it finds its way to the bow, it lays in the corner of the carpet usually and probably got pushed up there by fishing rods.

CaptainThe hose you are referring to does go on the end of your cup holder on the nose. My Jag is the same way. I would say this is to make sure water is diverted away from the electrical connections in that area of the boat. RK

I new it wasnt a steering hose fill tube, on the tm side of the boat up in the nose cap, Thanks RK, You walk to the production area in the factory and ask the builders, do we put a hose on the front cup holder and why, and they say yes we do because weve had trouble with water in this area and electrical connections, so now either i pop the cup holder out and put the hose back on with some type of glue so it doesnt just fall of again, hose clamp would be best but the nipple is flared will see. Hey RK did your hose fall off? what way does the hose lay? Would like to fix myself and not spend the gas and time for dealer fix on bcb tab!!!!

CaptainAll you have to do is twist the cup holder counter clock wise and it will lift out. I replaced my front cup holder and had to cut a small piece of the hose off so it would press on the nipple fitting of the cup holder and hold tight. I did not use any type of adhesive, as there was none on the original cup holder.RK

RKeeling is right. That is the hose for the Jaguar and a hose is used on some other models where a front cup holder wont drain to the center drain vee.it has always been on the bow mounted SS cup holders. The steering fill hose is a common question as they once placed those in the rod box and the whats this question was common.
