I ran it again today heavily loaded with everything I own (15 rods, 15 plano boxes, lots of soft plastics, tools etc.), but no water in the wells. 20-25 gallons in the left tank, and another 15 to 20 in the right tank. I adjusted the plate a little lower on the holeshot to prevent blow out, and it felt better today than when I was light- surprisingly good. I ran up to 5850 rpm and 75.9 mph. I lost about 2mph, so I feel like it is carrying a load pretty well. I need to add a second “big ol boy, and fill the wells and see if it will still come up. Recent runs with a 25 Fury with half this load were maxing out at 73-74. I am giving up some on hole shot, but not as much as you would think. I really like this 27 P Tempest. Im not getting of the stability issues at speed I keep reading about. Smooth Sailing! Speed:27 Tempest (Worked): Best (75-76)26 Trophy (Worked): Good (73-74)25 Fury (Stock): Not Bad (72-73)Hole Shot:26 Trophy (worked): Great25 Fury (stock): Very Good27 P Tempest(worked): Very Acceptable If anyone wants to try a 27 Trophy, I have one that I got off ebay for cheap, and had Steve try to rejuvenate it. It looked like the previous owner altered the leading edge for a Bullet. He blue printed the prop, and repaired the edges, added cup and worked the tips. I could only turn it to about 5650, and found the hole shot to be slow. If you want to try it, it is in my way and Ill make a someone a good deal on it.
