trailer light problem

One of my trailer lights (not LED light) is not working.The brake light and turn signal works fine. The running light does not, but the little red side marker light does.Ive looked at all the connections, especially the ground wires and all looks good.Could it be a bulb in the unit? or do I have to chase the wiring further?Boat and trailer is 4 months old!Your Signature …

If theres a single bulb in there, that has two filaments, the filament for running light is probably blown.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

I dont think its a wiring problem but its possible. If it was me, Id go ahead and buy a replacement, plug it in and try it. If it works, great. Get a 12v test light or meter to check for voltage at wire by the light, if you have voltage then it is the light, if not it could be a problem in the wire

Thats a warranty item and they press into place. Either your dealer or BCB can handle that for you. BCB

I have a grounding problem with mine. They blink for miles after I leave the house. But on long trips it clears up after 6 to ten miles. Do I need a new ball and clean out my receiver of rust. And the tounge where the ball goes. I use to use dielectric grease. It could have a build up in there?

Dedicated ground on Basscat trailers. That said, you need to make sure you have a good ground at the vehicles trailer connector. Sounds like that may be the problem but could be other things.

It could have a build up in there?I would clean up the ball first, if the problem persists look for a broken ground wire in the trailer harness or a loose or broken connection in the connectors.
