Good evening my basscat family! Its that time of year again! I hope 2017 has treated everyone well! Just thought I would freshen up my post., as you all know I do reel maintenance and repair! Its that time of year to get your reels cleaned up and repaired. I have Carbon Tex drag disk and Boca Bearings – the price for the bearings are $15 each for the orange seal type . The Carbontex drag disk start at $6 a set. And reel cleaning and lube is $20 a reel. Also if you have ever wanted a custom rod now is the time to get that started. I know a lot of yall fish in the winter months, but dont let that stop you from getting the needed maintenance on your rod and reels before spring. Pete provided a quick turnaround and very good reel maintenance for me last week. I recommend him if you need this service. Jim

Hey Pete. I have some 20 year old Lews reels, midas, bb1ng, bb19gs that I have broken down and cleaned the best I can but they still dont work right. I have asked a few people about working on them but they say that getting parts is an issue. One of these was my fathers and the other 2 I used when he was alive and we fished together all the time. It would be nice if I could use them so I could feel that a part of him is out there with me still. But if I have to retire them, I will.Just let me know. You can email me at ed.disabled.vet@gmail.com if that would be easier for communication. Thanks, Ed
Hey Ed, yes I can work on them and get ship shape!! Send them all as they are!!!! I have a few sources for old parts so send them to me and see what I can do for them!! Those reels are SOLID!!!
Sounds great. I have to wait until the first of the month and then theyll be on there way. Ill get you pics of themost later today. Not sure where the numbers are you asked about.
No problem. Sometimes reels have a number on the bottom of the foot.
Reels have feet? Ha…ha…ha…. guess thats why mine always get lost….lol
Hahahahaha!! Funny guy
My reels performed very well on the Big O. They did what they were supposed to do, but even better since they were serviced by you, Pete. The loose handles on two of my Chronarchs are now quite stable. I was fishing very heavy cover last week and had the drags tightened all of the way down (braided line).I am fishing Lake Eufaula this weekend and will surely be utilizing the drag on my reels more than I was. Ill be using some fluro and mono. Will post about that later.Adjusted those pins as you instructed properly and the reels stopped casting fast.Very pleased with your work and overall knowledge of the reels in general.Craig
Nothing but positive things to report AND you chased down a NLA part for the reel of a friend after I told him to send you a few for cleaning. You made a working reel from his paperweight by buying a used reel and scavenging the necessary side-cover.Top notch to do business with and over-the-top results!
AWESOME, Im happy you are pleased, now I wanna see some fish pics
BCB Disclaimer: No disrespect to anyone in this post. We want to be sure everyone knows scubaman154 is not the only BCB owner doing reel work as it was brought to our attention several other BCB owners provide this service. We know Arkansas Rod & Reel, in Little Rock does this and there are others we were told. This is much like John Jones as a Bass Cat owners doing trolling motor work and he is very proactive on this forum, and others, offering a great service. Though Gary Hubble also offer that same service through H2O SportZ in Sherwood, AR and there are more like Gary Kinard in Dallas area. Stretching down I-30 you can find a trolling motor BCB friend every 150 miles or so. Some are just more active on the Internet than others. Then there the tackle store conundrum and everything from Lews to Denali and Cranfield Junction. This goes on through Arkansas Rod and Reel to Fishin Stuff and so many tackle stores and all sizes of bait manufacturers that are all very loyal to Bass Cat. We just didnt want this to be unrecognized.BCBLast edited by Bass Cat Boats on May 7th, 2015, 12:55 pm, edited 2 times in total.
Well then, sorry your other guys got butt hurt over my post for cleaning and repairing reels, as it was in the garage sale page, they can do the same I guess!! This post was merely a question to the guys that I cleaned their reels for!
No problem scubaman! We just wanted to establish that fact and the other guys feelings were not hurt. We got a message from friends of the other guys, they would not be so forward and wouldnt worry about it. They are like most here, great guys!
