Hi guys. I have a 97 PII with a 200 EFI and a CMC hydraulic jackplate. The electric motor is shot and CMC doesnt stock any replacement parts anymore. I found a reproduction motor on Ebay but I am not inclined to spend $250.00+ on a part to fix a jackplate that is 14 years old. I have been researching new plates and the range for a hydraulic is in the $800.+ or a manual in the $300.+ range. The problem I need to solve is I converted my steering to a hydraulic unit a few years back and with the old CMC plate the hydraulic steering lines would bind against the top of the transom and if I dont pay attention when tilting the motor up I could damage the lines. I need a jackplate that sets far back enough for the lines to clear the transom. I probably need to go to a 8 inch setback to clear everything. What would you guys recommend? I am ruling out repairing my existing jackplate as I just dont want to spend about a third of the price of a new jackplate on a part to repair the old. Any help appreciated.
