My 2007 puma trailer is squeaking badly from the rear when it is flexed…on bumps or uneven road. It also makes another noise that sounds like wood flexing when I have to make a slow sharp turn. Any ideas? Just passed state Inspection and they said everything was fine. Both noises are Much louder than the normal sounds Ive had from the trailers over the years.
Make sure the bolts holding the bunks are tight (might be cause of wood sound). You can grease all contact points on the trailer springs/shackles which should quiet things down.
It is probably brake dust. Clean the discs with a power washer and see if it goes away, though it will return. Also check the spring hangers for excess wear. It is not the bunks in any form on any 07 from our experience.
i actually thought your question about “red” lube was a joke (alabama “crimson” tide thing). it would have been perfect for this board.Last edited by cajun catter on April 21st, 2010, 5:40 pm, edited 1 time in total.
MDbasser; Take some quarter inch rubber gas line and cut into one inch pieces. then slit the pieces and slip over the brake line everywhere there is a half a chain link support along the inside of the trailer channel. Put a dab of silicone sealer on each piece to keep it from sliding around. Dont forget to do the rear axle. This will eliminate a lot of noise. You dont really pick up the rattling if your towing with a pick-up, but if your towing with a van with the rear windows open….WOW. Plus its never a bad idea to keep your brake lines tight and secure…….”Uncle” Mike
