Culling Floats

You need to check out Ardent SmartCull system, I think they are the best culling floats on he market.

I saw some Saturday at our tournament that clipped to the fish, instead of puncturing, not sure how well they work, but I thought it was a cool idea!

I totally agree with 1stinLA on the X-tools clips. It seemed like a good idea that would be easy on the fish and I fell for it. I bought the digital scale and floats. My first time using them was as a co-angler in a BASS Open and they were useless. I had to catch all my fish from the livewell and re-weigh them to cull. Guys,I dont like the idea of sticking holes in the jaws of fish with metal clips, especially in hot weather. I bought one of the culling sets from Tackle Warehouse that is a light rubber tube with a float on top, and has a loop of heavy black mono that goes under the gill plate, but does not impact the actual gills. Then, I attached the Ardent Culling balls to the top of the other floats with a heavy tie wrap. I think I have the best of both worlds now. Culling float DOES NOT come off fish, I can dial in the weights, and the attachment to the bass has no piercing or damaging qualities.Works great through 5 tournaments now–and yeah BasketMan, I actuall get to cull fish occasionally!!Whitten

I personally would rather punch a tendon/ligament than rub the area where oxygen absorption takes place particularly if I am pulling them out of the livewell and they go haywire with that string down there rubbing around on that area. Any injury at all down there in 92 degree water and that fish is done.C.O.D. Jr. III
