Any used 2010 Puma with the SHO coming up for sale? Prices for new have just reached a level I am not comfortable with. Scary numbers.
There may be a few on the market, though since the they have only been out a few months there will be very few ready to turn one soon. BCB
smbass I would be interested in reading about these “bad tales”. Where did you get your information?
Well I guess if thats true, we are all in the same game!!!! Mercs,Johnsons,Suzukis and even Hondas and Yamahas break……Bass boaters, drag racers, and guys like me typically beat the snot out of their packages, but not all do. I do feel that the pricing of these packages is out of control, especially when some of America can only use their boats 3-5months….Pontoons have come up a hair in my 6yrs of doing this, but aluminum and glass boats have jumped 20-40% for esentially the same product. DFIs and 4 strokes have been out the entire time Ive sold Marine items, and its gettting scary, hell we have a $62,000 21ft Aluminum Lund Pro V here with a 300 Verado and 9.9 Pro Kicker, its Lil brother with a 225/9.9 is still $56,000……But as long as people keep buying items the prices will continue to rise, just look at the $60,000-$100,000 Hi Performance Pontoons…..My buddy is buying a Twin 350 Verado Merc Racing motors on his 26ft Playcraft…..now thats GOOFY!!!!!Your Signature …

The manufacturers are not making a killing as you might suspect. Part of the problem is most seem to think they need:Twin power poles at 4K.2 side imagers at 6K.hydraulic jack plate at 1.5KSony boom box – 1K20″ rims and low profile tires – 1K
I have a 250 SHO and its running good. i know a few others that have them as well with no problems to speak of. Its a great setup on a Puma FTD and im very happy with the boat and motor.
I know several guys running the SHO and they all love them. I think the SHO rumors are just that “rumors”. I have no hesitation is buying a boat with the SHO. I agree with Phil on the toys fisherman “think” they need and how those toys increase the price of a boat. I did want a hydraulic jackplate because it is a big benefit fishing KY Lake, and I did want one 998 at the console. With sales tax right at 60K? Wow! And I do not mean to imply its just BCB. I priced a Z520 Ranger with the SHO and its in the same ball park. If any boat is worth that kind of money, its a Cat, but just blows my mind how prices have sky rocketed. And our government says we have no inflation? Last edited by RedCatCougar on October 22nd, 2010, 10:30 pm, edited 2 times in total.
I own a SHO and love it. I am yet to personally talk to anyone that had power head failure or any other type failure. I have talked to the local Skeeter dealer and the dealer than sold me mine, and neither one has had a failure like this. I keep hearing these stories from people who fished with some guy that knows some body. I am not denying that Yamaha hasnt acknowledged any such problems, Im just saying, I am yet to talk with anyone personally. Believe me, those people would be all over these boards, my limited time here and especially BBC have taught me that most people have no problem airing out problems on these forums. All we keep reading is the “I know somebody” story. I dont mean to preach or get on a soapbox. I am just getting aggravated at all this negative talk without concrete proof. I am smart enough to know that problems may be present or may arise with us early adopters, and when they do Yamaha and Andy Greene will be there to take care of me!britt redcatcougar, sorry to steal your threadLast edited by Gasbasser on October 22nd, 2010, 11:02 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Guys, the part he was referring to as scary was the price tag as Doug referred to. There are no implications of an SHO issue. He was/is trying to get a fresh new SHO rig for less $.
Im glad you said that about the price reference BCB cause I was reading this and couldnt figure out what I was missing.
