In a perfect world, I would want a boat storage area that was 30 deep by at least 12 wide. This will accomodate any full size BassCat, and still give you room to move around and work on tackle.Mike Whitten/Germantown, TN
I have a 98 P2 and it fits in a 9 garage with several inches on each side. You are right it wont make an 8 door.Hope this helps.GeorgeGeorge
As Mike says a perfect world……………….but a 9 footer will work. An 8 footer will not!
Actually you should measure that 93 P2 as many were on frames that were less than 8 and removing or notching the garage frame trim may squeeze it in there. The newer models will not fit in 8 doors. BCB
If youre starting from scratch building a new house/garage, why not build your boat a HOUSE of its own?My BassCat has its own attached garage. I have a Cougar without swing-away tongue. My garage is 30X18 with a full-width door (15 or 16 I cant recall). Its really easy to get in and out and all of my storage closets/roll-aways fit easily and I can work around the boat. The 30 garage is comfortable, but believe it or not, a couple more feet wider wouldnt hurt!!! It also would have increased my value to a 2-car garage if it were 20 wide.Just as a kicker, my wife asked the contractor what it would cost to have this room air conditioned. Since I have 2 units, the garage was added to my upstairs units AC system with its own zone. NOTE: There is no return air in the garage, due to the issue of fuel fumes, etc.Good Luck,BassCatDan
A man cannot have a garage thats too big. My current house has a 28 x 30 garage. I wish it was twice that size! The new house I am buying has a garage thats only 20 x 20, but it has a 9 wide by 6 deep extension on one side so my CougarFTD will fit on that side. Most newer homes have tiny garages. Build yours as large as you can afford and have room for!!!!
I have a standard two car garage with it being 21 feet in length, just enough for the Sabre to squeeze in. So my question is, have anyone tried to squeeze a 20 ft Basscat diagonally in a standard two car garage and did it fit? Thanks
I cant help you with picture but I was wondering if the carport had a storage room door on the back wall? If so take door off hinges an back motor in hole. If your going to put the boat in angled, measure out of the corner 3ft an then from that mark to where boat will nose at, that will give you the answer . ( measuring out 3 puts you out to where the boat will corner)
Theres the need for that bounty on architects who design garages shorter than 25 again! Whats 4 more feet for toys! We think the shot you want was either Judds or Mojos. (jlassiter we think)
Judd was “basschaser” on here. I cant seem to find the picture for you either. 21X21 is gonna be TIGHT, hope you dont have anything else to put in there. The pop will be a life saver. Im putting my Cougar in a garage 23 deep, thought OD have tons of room. Idid until I bought another Harley. The Trike just fits between the tounge swung away and the door frame. You may want to contact flyswatter for his idea on the electric wheel. Ill eventually get one.
Mine is smaller and I got mine in there right now with 2 power poles. It is 1/4″ from the garage door and the driver side power pole is against the wall. Jack plate is all the way down, motor down and turned and the trailer jack is all the way down. I do not need the pop axle as I marked the garage for entry and have it down to a science. It is a very impressive feat but doable. No need to think more of me then what I deserve, I put my pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else. I am just a man.
BCB asks what is 4 more feet.Four more feet is about (4) x (21) x ($100/square foot) = $8,000.00If money is not a factor, make it as big as you can get away with.If money is a factor, you have make it as small as will work and still fit within a persons budget.
We understand CB2, though often these are $250k and up homes and it is not nearly as much a factor. Also garage space is considerably less than finished interiors by sq. ft. unless you heat and cool it.
I took some measurements:Garage measures 209″ deep and 184″ widePuma FTD with a Merc 250, Detwiler Hydrailic JP and twin power poles and no pop axle. It is tight but like I said before is makes it with a good 1/4″ to spare.
