I am looking to pull my Cougar FTD/250 Pro Xs with a class II hitch. Class II hitches are rated upto 3500 lbs. Does my boat, motor & trailer weigh more than 3500 lbs? Has anyone on here ever used a class II hitch? looking for feedback. Thanks.
found my answer. 19″ to the top of the ball. Dbasketman is probably going to disown me after my wd-40 question. I have asked him no more than 10 times if he was sure the wd-40 wouldnt hurt my paint!
D is right…wd40 is actually a better cleaner than anything else I have ever used it for. Good for tar on the boot too. Take care and enjoy the new rig. Judd Lasiter
BassCat says on here many times to figure your weight at 4000 lbs. My hitches are all class III. I would think that the only time you might have trouble is if you were in a bind. That is just my $.02 worth.
Up to – means to me that they normally expect considerably less. Also Id be concerned about insurance implications IF you were in an accident and they determined that your hitch was undersized! Adding my $.02 – I wouldnt do it; Id go with the class III! C.
