Have 1997 EFI 200 Mercury ,have had the EFI rebuilt twice. First time lasted 8 months ,sent back and they rebuilt ,this time lasted 4 months. Reputable company , and mechanic working on motor .not sure what to do now. Any suggestions ?
At the current pace the next one will last 2 months.Is the whole engine being rebuilt or just the cylinder that is blown? If youre getting one at a time, you might try having all rebuilt.
Buddy of mine had same engine same year same thing happen. He sold boat for loss and went to 18 foot ranger and 150 fast strike after second rebuild. Head was sent to Florida for rebuild.
