2017 350/Jag motor toter question

Have a new boat on order and wondering what Verado owners are using for motor toters ?? I currently use a Lous toter on my Cougar and really like it, but was told that wont work on the Verado. Before the Lous I was using a traditional transom saver. The problem I ran into was the front two rubber bumpers that wedged against the lower unit began to scratch the lower unit paint from the screws that held them on. I replaced the rubber bumpers and it did the same thing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks, Bill

With the traditional transom saver, I always put a microfiber towel between the rubber bumpers and the lower unit. This keeps the paint on, and makes it easier to remove.

Congrats on the new boat, sounds like a beast. As far protection from normal transom saver, I had some extra bunk trailer carpet from my old boat and use wire ties to fasten a piece on each side where it meets the lower unit. I did it more to prevent sticking then to protect from scratches but I guess it will do both.

Got a 17 JAg/350 and I dont like the transom saver either. Ordrerd the verado MyWedge and they work great. Trim it down to compress the heavy duty rubber wedges and the V-rod does not budge. BTW, the Jag will make you smile every single time you put the throttle down.

A heavy cotton T shirt works best to pad the toter from the gearcase.

I use the traditional toter. It works well, but will look the wedge. You will truly love fishing in that rig.

So guess that will have to do for the Verado. Now its hurry up and wait time. And its even worse for the northern folks like us since we have hard water. I did try ice fishing last Saturday, once I got used to the ice talking to me I began to relax some, have to admit I am afraid of the ice. Was definitely a fun day with mr. Chris, another Cat owner at my family farms 9 acre pond. Kept several nice gills, but could not locate the crappies.Hope all is well with you,Bill

Speck, thanks for the info on the Wedge. I will look into that, but assume BCBs want something that takes the pressure off of the transom.Looking forward to the “throttle down smile”
