SabreFTD/175HPDI one last run before I remove my hotfoot, 71.1 on GPS, Light Load

Never realized how dynamic the SabreFTD hull was and appreciating it more every day. I saw 71.3 on the GPS but the recorder saved 71.1 on the GPS. Not sure whats up with that so it is what it is.25 Fury Prop3.25″ below padAir Temps, 60°Water Temps, 55°RPMS seem to be around 5600-5700 at WOT (Analog)15lb. WPSIEmpty LivewellsBetween 1/4 to 1/2 tank of gasHole Shot feels instantAlmost Full Trim, no prop slip from hole shot to WOTminor current helpingno windSeems much easier to drive and control chine walk at WOT with the updated Sabre hull.There is some Steering torque but minor to my hands. Others may have a different prespective.

Great Run Fly, never would have guessed that 175 hpdi had that much in it. I think that FTD pad is quicker then your original Sabre. Get some hours on that motor and you just might hit 72. Sure is a fun rig.

Dave,The 175HPDI has surprised and impressed way beyond my expectations but the key to why this boat has performed better then my previous Sabre is what BassCat did to the hull. I know they would not share their design secrets but this hull is different. My previous Sabre was already impressive but the current Sabres Hull has evolved into something even better. It drives better and is faster from my experience after having both. I bet it gets better gas mileage too. Ill soon find out because Ill be adding HBs NMEA2000 bridge to display engine data like MPG.Now I cant wait to to get my boat back after the 10 hour break in service. Im having my Kenwood 700U iPod Juke box installed and will be rocking it hard on the water.I dont care what 175 motor you put on this boat you will do 70 plus easily once dialed in. Congrats Tom! I knew you would surpass 71 after hitting 70 so quick. You mentioned no wind, was it glass calm? I know my best runs have been on glass which is not what I would have thought. Keep the posts coming! John

Are you still considering the Hydro Tech Phase II kit? That will kick you up over some of the 200 hp speeds. ElwoodElwood…..Bass Cat Proud

John S.There was just a small ripple to patches of glass water during my WOT run. Darren,Ive am considering a Phase 1 kit. It would not violate warranty from Yamaha as long as I keep the original head if want to be anal about OEM discovery. Phase 1 is not detectable by current Yamaha service software. I think you gain 25 HPs with that setup. Id consider a Phase II but to many mods would show up on Yamahas service software. I was told once you do the Hydrotech upgrade the HPDI will run smoother then anything in the Yamaha OEM line. Its completely different motor. If I did the Phase 1 upgrade I suspect Id gain additional 3 plus mph. Phase II…… Man, is this a spiffy fun boat to drive. Fun to fish out of too. I should get my SabreFTD on Friday and will be adjusting to sans Hot Foot. I should be able to adapt. Also, keeping the HF when I decide to sell. Also, had the Carpet pad snapped in during my runs. I dont think it cost me that much on top end. Minor at best. Ill post a pic of the padded carpet later. Looks pretty good IMO.Going forward legs will be stretched out behind the wheel. Niiiiiice!!!!!

Yes the Sabre FTD has been my dream boat for the past 3 years .I have the 2003 Sabre with the 150 but the 175 should kick but on the Sabre
