Ok, tryed to do a search and came up with nothing. I would like to know what prop you guys are using for your 1999-2003 Cougar (non FTD)? I have a 26P TRO4 on it now and the hole shot is not the best, 7-8 seconds at best, I believe this boat could be better. Im getting about 4500 RPMs on the blade when its getting on plane but still pretty sluggish. Its even worse with livewells full. Thanks in advance….forgot to add, its on a 1999 EFI 225 Mercury.Derrick

Think I may have found my problem with the poor holeshot. Prop shaft is sitting at 4 inches below pad, think ill raise it and start there…….

Whoa! Slow down and lets work on this. The 225 EFI was notorious for loosing TPI settings and that float caused all sorts of hole shot issues. The propeller we would suggest today is the 25 Fury. We are not sure exactly what a TR 04 is, though we would have run a 26 or 25 Trophy on it new. If you could have found a 26 Predator in the PPS version that would have been our choice. The Predator propeller is no longer made. The height is all about engine torque on feedback through the steering wheel. If you have a smidge of torque then your height is right. Raising it will give you more torque than we would like and if the engine is too high it can cause all sorts of havoc on upper end. The key to set up is getting the top end performance as good as it will get, and then start working on opening or closing off vent holes for hole shot. If the hole shot still suffers and the top end handling and performance are there, then you may have to select another propeller. BCB

If I were the previous owner I would have thrown in 25 Tempest with the purchase.
