How many boats?

Might do the OI this spring and was just wondering how many boats are expected? Im trying to time my trip to the factory to pick up my boat around the event and would love to see hundreds of Cats on Guntersville!

We are estimating between 400 and 500 boats. This looks like a larger event with the enthusiasm we have seen. Many locals from AR & MO are making plans to go to Guntersville as everyone has wanted to fish it being the legendary reservoir with Bassmasters and FLW it has been in recent decades. Then there are many boats within a few hours of Guntersville in TN, MS and ALabama who love the reservoir. We think 500 plus is not out of the question. Though as mentioned we will not know till registration ends on Thursday that week. BCB

Im driving 15 hrs from Ontario to get my boat at BCB, figured whats another 8 to the OI. I bet its quite the sight

WOW, 23 hours one way! Im coming from Northern Indiana I think it is about 9 1/2 Hours. Really looking forward to it.

Id like to make the trip, just not decided yet. Its not all that far from me, maybe 7-8 hours, thats no big deal. Id have to find someone to help me launch. The wife doesnt back the boat down the ramp, drive it off the trailer, or park the truck and trailer, so it would be just me doing those things. Id hate to take too much time at the ramp and hold others up. It looks like it will be super crowded there. billius:just launch downtown at one of the other ramps and motor up. Simple solution and less crowded. Take your wife to the unclaimed luggage store in Scottsboro and make the best of it. That brings to mind an interesting question. I fish up there regularly and camp as well. We launch at the ramp near the front of the park, and then drive the boat around to the campground boat dock. That dock at the front is NOT going to hold a hundred boat trailers, much less 500. What is everyone planning to do? BTW the ramp I am talking about might allow two at a time if everyone is careful… Sort of an odd place where the dock is 8-10 feet below the ground level at the top of the launch, with a walkway and stairs up to the top.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

Made the trek down / back in 3 days in Nov to BCB and dont remember much from the exhaustion. Was thinking about making my way down a week before the OI. Maybe do Bull Shoals after the factory and then head towards Gville to prefish a bit. Anyone ever used a guide on Guntersville?
